Job DescriptionWhat You'll Accomplish with UsAs a Senior Actuarial Advisor, you will be at the heart of our mission. Key responsibilities include:
- Act as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor to ensure alignment between financial results, actuarial assumptions, and pricing strategies;
- Analyze and interpret results with managers, provide recommendations, and communicate findings to various stakeholders (Finance, Pricing, and Senior Management) to support decision-making;
- Identify and recommend improvement opportunities aimed at optimizing profitability, processes, and tools within the business line;
- Advise and support the Pricing team in the analysis of major quotations and renewals;
- Ensure sound governance of actuarial valuation and pricing models;
- Participate in the enhancement of pricing tools and in activities related to the annual update of assumptions used within these tools;
- Contribute to the evolution, optimization, and governance of predictive models in partnership with Data Analytics and IT teams;
- Represent the Finance team in various strategic initiatives related to the business line;
- Contribute to a variety of Finance team projects and processes based on business priorities (e.g., process improvements, financial results analysis, budgeting, risk management, etc.);
- Analyze industry survey results to identify emerging trends and assess their implications for iA's business strategies.
What Could Accelerate Your Success in This RoleWe're looking for someone who:
- Holds a Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science and has a minimum of 10 years of relevant actuarial experience;
- Is a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA);
- Has an interest in programming and automation;
- Is recognized for their rigor and strong analytical capabilities;
- Stands out through a continuous improvement mindset and structured thinking;
- Demonstrates a high level of autonomy, initiative, and the ability to manage multiple priorities;
- Has an advanced level of proficiency in both French and English, as the role requires daily communication through calls and emails with unilingual English-speaking clients and partners across Canada.
