Title: Senior Accounting Manager

Starting Salary Range: The starting salary range for this position will be in the $101,000 to $104,030 range, depending on experience, education, and skills relevant to the position. Please note that the indicated starting salary range describes the range for an incumbent in this position. Most new staff generally start at the beginning of the range percentile to ensure internal salary equity.

Location: Fully remote eligible within the contiguous United States only.

Status: Full-Time, Exempt

Position Summary:

The Senior Accounting Manager position is responsible for managing accounting services Accounts Payable and Purchasing functions. This position maintains the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of financial data and supports the Finance Team throughout the monthly and annual close process. The Senior Accounting Manager is responsible for supporting the Director of Accounting in maintaining the integrity of the general ledger. The position ensures compliance with applicable regulations including GAAP and the CFR. The position provides day-to-day support of accounting operations. The Sr. Accounting Manager supervises the Accounts Payable team and provides support to the Director of Accounting.

Outcomes & Functions of Position:

Accounting & Financial Management
  • Maintains the integrity of general ledger (GL) for the organization.
  • Performs advanced GL reconciliations and resolves transactional conflicts.
  • Supports treasury management including facilitating weekly payables.
  • Oversees the completeness and accuracy of all AP related transactions.
  • Completes annual 1099 filings.
  • Manages the company credit card program; resolves policy violations.
  • Administers procurement and purchasing processes in accordance with the CFR.
  • Monitors subrecipient financial compliance and tracking in accordance with the CFR.
  • Provides direction, coordination, training and support of finance staff as needed.
  • Continually assesses current policies, practices, procedures, and operational processes; provides recommendations and initiates improvements.
  • Assists in the management of the annual single audit; prepares and reviews audit schedules; coordinate staff.
  • Assists the Director of Accounting in the monthly close process; review and post transactional entries and reconciliations.
  • Train and support AP functions

  • Leads and/or participates in organizational-wide teams, projects and initiatives that support the work of the Strategic Plans goals.
  • Reports any potential complaints within the organization as identified in the Personnel Policy Manual.
  • Assists or leads other responsibilities, as assigned.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, advanced technical accounting skills required.
  • Minimum of 5 years managing administrative systems in non-profit or similar organization preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Ability to operate Microsoft Office programs and applications, or similar platforms.
  • Ability to keep others and oneself, in remote locations, accountable to expectations.
  • Valid Driver's License and Insurable Driving Record per Personnel Policies.
  • Must be able to pass the organization's criminal history check requirements.
  • Ability to successfully work in a fluid, changing work environment.
