Senior Accounting Associate II - JLL

What this job involves:

As an Senior Accounting Associate II at JLL, you will provide essential accounting support for a portfolio of retail properties, serving as a key financial steward for our clients. This role combines technical accounting expertise with client service excellence, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective cash management, and seamless coordination of accounting operations. You will play a critical part in maintaining the financial health of retail properties while supporting JLL's commitment to delivering exceptional real estate solutions. What your day-to-day will look like:
  • Prepare monthly financial reports, journal entries, financial statements, and bank reconciliations in accordance with client requirements and standards
  • Manage accounts receivable processes by monitoring bank accounts, reconciling receipts, ensuring timely posting of ACH/Wire payments, and reviewing manual billing adjustments
  • Oversee accounts payable processes, including invoice coding/approval reviews, audit trail verification, and submission of AP batches for check processing
  • Review CAM (Common Area Maintenance) lease language and ensure proper setup of CAM pools to support accurate cost recovery
  • Supervise cash management procedures and coordinate the payroll reporting process across properties
  • Support annual budget preparation, including recovery setup and calculations, and conduct year-end reconciliations for CAM, percentage rent, insurance, utilities, and real estate taxes
  • Calculate and file sales tax as required by property location, assist with property audits, and contribute to ad-hoc projects as business needs arise


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S. or B.A.) in Accounting or similar field
  • 2-4 years of accounting experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products with strong Excel skills
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare financial statements, journal entries, and reconciliations
  • Understanding of accounts receivable and accounts payable processes in a property management context
  • Ability to work effectively in varying environments and manage multiple activities simultaneously
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to establish and maintain effective client relationships


Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2-4 years of real estate accounting experience
  • Experience with Yardi accounting software
  • Knowledge of CAM reconciliations and cost recovery structures in retail real estate
  • Familiarity with sales tax calculation and filing requirements
  • Experience supporting annual budgets and year-end audit processes
  • Ability to quickly grasp new problems and adapt to changing priorities
  • Results-driven mindset with a track record of exceeding goals
  • Demonstrated ability to handle ambiguity and make sound decisions without complete information

Estimated compensation for this position:

85,000.00 - 94,000.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
