Versant is seeking a Senior Accounting Analyst, Entertainment and Sports to support accounting and financial reporting activities across its Entertainment & Sports portfolio. This role will be an integral member of the TV Networks Controllership team, supporting the monthly and quarterly close, financial analysis, internal controls, and reporting for the business. The Senior Accounting Analyst will partner across Controllership, FP&A, and other business functions to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting while helping identify opportunities to improve and automate accounting processes as Versant continues to evolve as an independent public company. Key Responsibilities • Support the monthly and quarterly financial close for Versant's Entertainment & Sports entities, ensuring accurate and timely recording of transactions in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policies. • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting analyses across key balance sheet and income statement accounts. • Support accounting and analysis for key TV Networks activities, including production, marketing,and other revenue and expense areas. • Review transactions for proper accounting treatment, coding, entity usage, and support within SAP and related reporting systems. • Support revenue-recognition analysis under ASC 606, including contract review, identification of performance obligations, assessment of variable consideration, and maintenance of related accounting schedules. • Prepare and analyze financial reporting and account activity, investigate variances, and partner with relevant teams to resolve accounting issues. • Maintain documentation and execute assigned SOX controls, and support internal and external audit requests. • Collaborate with FP&A, Controllership, Legal, and other business teams to support accounting requirements and ensure alignment across financial reporting activities. • Support enhancements to accounting processes, reporting tools, and systems, identifying opportunities to standardize, simplify, and automate recurring activities. Qualifications Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. • 2-4 years of Accounting and/or Finance experience, preferably within media, entertainment, sports, or a related industry. • Strong Knowledge of U.S. GAAP, general accounting principles, revenue recognition and financial reporting. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across Finance and business teams. Desired Characteristics • CPA or progress towards CPA preferred. • Experience within the media, entertainment, television, or sports industry. • Advanced Excel skills and experience with SAP, Blackline or other enterprise ERP and financial reporting systems. • Experience working within a SOX-compliant public company environment. • Interest in process improvement, automation, and Finance transformation. • Ability to manage competing priorities, meet close deadlines, and exercise sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.
