We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing team. This role combines traditional accounting responsibilities, including ownership of the month end close process, financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance, with opportunities to lead a small accounting team, improve business processes, and support executive decision making. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable rolling up their sleeves in the details while helping execute the financial discipline needed to support a growing organization.
Responsibilities- Lead the month end, quarter end, and year end close processes
- Prepare and review financial statements and management reporting
- Maintain accuracy and integrity of the general ledger
- Analyze financial results and identify opportunities for improvement
- Lead, coach, and develop a small accounting team
- Strengthen internal controls and accounting processes
- Partner with operations leaders to improve reporting and business performance
- Coordinate annual audits, tax support, and external financial relationships
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Support payroll, benefits, and compliance activities
- Drive process improvements that increase efficiency and scalability
What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience owning month end close processes
- Experience preparing financial statements and balance sheet reconciliations
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership through supervision, mentoring, or project leadership
- High level of integrity and professionalism
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Planes
- Experience leading accounting staff
- Experience in construction, recycling, manufacturing, transportation, distribution, or other operationally similar industries
Work LocationThis position is based at our Oakland, California headquarters and is expected to work onsite during regular business hours. This is not a remote position.
