Full Job Description
THE ROLE

We're looking for a Senior Accountant to build the financial backbone of a fast-growing social commerce business.

This is not a back-office maintenance role.

This is about bringing clarity to a fast-moving, multi-platform environment where revenue, creators, media, and inventory are constantly in motion.

You'll turn that complexity into a system the business can trust.

You'll own AR, AP, and month-end close - while building structure across high-volume, multi-platform revenue streams. You'll work cross-functionally to translate platform payouts, creator commissions, ad spend, and inventory movement into clean, reliable financial reporting.

This role is for someone comfortable with limited structure - and takes initiative to build what's missing.

Precision matters.

Pace matters.

Judgment matters most.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Own Revenue & Cash (AR)
  • Own revenue tracking and reconciliation across platforms (TikTok Shop, Instagram, DTC, and beyond)
  • Own client billing and ensure invoices reflect how the business actually operates
  • Reconcile payment processor payouts (Stripe, PayPal, etc.) to bank accounts and the general ledger
  • Monitor refunds, chargebacks, and platform fees
  • Bring visibility to revenue timing, trends, and cash collection

Own Expenses & Payouts (AP)
  • Own vendor payments and ensure clean, reliable expense tracking
  • Manage influencer, affiliate, and creator payouts, including commission-based structures
  • Track marketing spend, subscriptions, and operating expenses
  • Maintain organized, audit-ready vendor and contractor records

Own Inventory & COGS
  • Track inventory, COGS, and returns across 3PLs
  • Reconcile inventory movement across platforms, warehouse reports, and the general ledger

Lead Month-End Close
  • Own and continuously improve the close process-driving speed and accuracy
  • Own journal entries across accruals, commissions, ad spend, returns, and intercompany activity
  • Reconcile key accounts including cash, processors, payables, and accruals
  • Support multi-entity accounting and intercompany transactions
  • Reconcile financial data across operational tools (Airtable, HubSpot, and others)
  • Identify gaps and implement simple, scalable processes
  • Maintain clean, audit-ready documentation

Build & Scale
  • Build the accounting infrastructure for a company scaling across new commerce platforms
  • Create workflows and controls where none exist today
  • Help evaluate and implement systems (ERP, billing, expense management) as the company grows
  • Partner with operators to translate campaign performance into financial insight
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash planning

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • 5+ years of accounting experience (early-stage, eCommerce, or social commerce preferred)
  • Strong understanding of cash flow in high-volume, multi-source revenue environments
  • Experience reconciling multiple payment platforms and imperfect data sources
  • Solid grasp of GAAP fundamentals and revenue recognition (ASC 606 basics)
  • Highly proficient in Excel or Google Sheets
  • Experience with QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar systems (or the ability to ramp quickly)
  • Experience in environments where systems were built-not inherited

WHO YOU ARE
  • You build systems instead of maintaining them
  • You move fast - but don't lose precision
  • You're comfortable when things aren't fully defined
  • You communicate clearly with operators, not just finance teams
  • You take ownership and figure things out

WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS

Social commerce is fast, fragmented, and messy.

Revenue flows through platforms, creators, and systems that weren't designed to work together.

This role brings order to that.

It builds the financial foundation that allows the business to scale with confidence.
