The Senior Accountant is responsible for performing complex accounting tasks, maintaining the general ledger, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards. This role supports month-end and year-end close processes, assists with audits, and contributes to process improvements. The ideal candidate has strong technical accounting knowledge and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting & Close - Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Lead or assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
- Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals
- Analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and completeness
General Ledger & Reconciliations - Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Review balance sheet and income statement accounts
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies
Compliance & Audit Support - Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies
- Assist with internal and external audits
- Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation
Analysis & Process Improvement - Perform variance analysis and financial trend reporting
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities
- Recommend improvements to accounting procedures and internal controls
QualificationsEducation (Required): - Bachelor's degree in Accounting
Preferred: - CPA certification or CPA candidate
- Master's degree in Accounting or related field
Experience: - 3-6+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience with general ledger accounting and financial reporting
Compensation: $80,000 to $90,000 annually
Compensation is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
