The Senior Accountant, Shared Financial Services plays a key role in ensuring the reliability of financial information and the efficiency of Innergex's accounting operations. Through technical expertise and leadership, this individual contributes to the integrity of financial results, maintains a rigorous control environment, and supports the continuous improvement of accounting processes and systems. By collaborating with multiple stakeholders, they support the organization's growth and actively contribute to the achievement of business objectives.

Your day-to-day!

The person in this position oversees the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes and ensures the quality of the financial data produced. They review and approve the journal entries prepared by the accounting team, oversee the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, and oversee the preparation of sales tax returns and annual tax filings.

They also oversee the preparation of periodic financial statements and participate in external audits by coordinating and ensuring the quality of the required documentation. Their expertise is leveraged in the budgeting process and in conducting financial analyses to support decision-making and improve operational performance.

With a focus on continuous improvement, they contribute to special projects and the optimization of month-end closing processes and accounting practices. They work closely with the information technology teams to enhance financial systems and management tools.

Your skills, our requirements!
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting and hold a CPA certification.
  • At least eight (8) years of experience in financial accounting.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for optimization and contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong ability to thrive in a growing and changing environment.
  • Good organizational skills, independence, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent proficiency in Excel and familiarity with financial systems and ERP systems.
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion, OneStream, or similar platforms is a plus.
  • Bilingualism (French and English, written and spoken) is required to ensure collaboration with different stakeholders outside of Québec on a regular basis.
  • Experience working at a publicly traded company or knowledge of U.S. GAAP is a plus

  • This position is a P3C level.
