Job Summary:

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Senior Accountant drives the financial management of the real estate department and actively supports ongoing real estate projects. In this role, you will prepare and input journal entries, analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts, and manage full-cycle lease accounting alongside strategic projects. This role will routinely collaborate with internal and external teams regarding accounting matters relevant to their projects and departments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Execute month-end journal entries, including accruals and amortization, and generate required reports.
  • Review and manage property financials, collaborating with appropriate departments to resolve discrepancies.
  • Oversee property tax activity by monitoring assessed values, recording accruals, and ensuring payments are completed timely.
  • Analyze lease agreements to identify relevant accounting terms and maintain records in Excel and facilitate new property onboarding in JDE Oracle.
  • Maintain compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide training and conduct detailed financial variance analysis.
  • Work closely with management teams to develop and upload annual real estate budgets.
  • Deliver updates and insights into accounting and real estate leadership on financial matters.
  • Facilitate year-end audit processes by preparing audit packets and addressing auditor requests.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Manager.


Position Requirements (Work Experience, Skills, Licenses, etc.):
  • Minimum 5 years' accounting experience, Property Management or Lease Accounting experience preferred
  • Four-year accounting degree, CPA preferred
  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • JDE Oracle experience a plus

Hours:

This is an exempt position. Workdays are scheduled from Monday through Friday. Typical work hours begin and end between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm as coordinated with the position's supervisor. Work outside of regular hours may occasionally be necessary to meet business needs.

Competitive Wages:

$81,000 to $106,500 annual salary. Applicants, please note that actual compensation is determined by several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, certifications, relevant education or training, and specific work location, among others. The offered wage or salary is only one aspect of an employee's total compensation.
