Description

Consolidated Asset Management Services ("CAMS") is seeking to hire a Senior Accountant. This position requires a wide variety of duties and candidates must be willing to "roll their sleeves up". The successful candidate will have at least five years of accounting experience. Power generation accounting experience is a plus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for cash management and daily accounting for assigned projects, including communication with the client, asset manager, lenders, bank representatives, and vendors. Core responsibilities include, but may not be limited to the following:

  • Managing and overseeing the processing of accounts payable including the verification of payment details for new and existing vendors as required by CAMS Treasury policies.
  • Provide cash forecasts to client and CAMS management and participate in management of cash for payment of accounts payable, service of debt, and equity transactions.
  • Responsible for performing monthly accounting close process.
  • Prepare and provide monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements to clients, lenders, and other stakeholders as required.
  • Coordinate with plant and asset management in preparation of monthly management reports, including actual to budget variance analysis, for presentation to the client as required.
  • As the key accounting point of contact, maintain a strong client relationship on assigned projects regarding accounting issues.
  • Manage all debt compliance requirements and prepare required certificates and requests from lenders and lenders' representatives.
  • Prepare annual operating budgets and periodic operations forecasts.
  • Oversee annual audits including preparation of comprehensive work papers, PBCs, financial statements, and audit reports including footnotes for outside auditors.
  • Prepare supporting documentation for outside tax consultants.
  • Support Asset Manager with financial models, contract compliance, and assist with day-to-day operations as needed.
  • Develop and maintain a strong system of internal accounting and cash controls.
  • Provide ad-hoc requests to client as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in accounting with at least five years of financial audit or project accounting experience.
  • Strong financial and operational analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities; must be a self-starter and take the initiative in completing projects and assignments on time.
  • Solid knowledge and experience with GAAP accounting and financial reporting.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • A driven individual who wants to grow professionally and be a part of a team environment.
  • Customer focused with strong attention to detail and capable of delivering accurate, quality results in a timely, consistent, and professional manner.

Preferred
  • CPA or MBA with an emphasis in accounting.
  • Experience in the energy industry, specifically power generation or renewable energy.
