Senior Accountant

At Pacifica Continental we are working together with an international bank looking for a Senior Accountant to join their team in Miami. This person will manage all accounting procedures to ensure the bank's overall financial health. The ideal candidate has a strong background in accounting, excellent attention to detail and deep knowledge of regional laws/regulations.

Scope of Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive financial updates and support to Financial Control team members by valuating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate financial transactions. Moreover, this role assists with management of the internal controls related to financial and accounting processes by applying policies and procedures of the Bank and its affiliates. Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.
• Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
• Maintains and balances GL and subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.
• Summarizes financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheets, profit and loss, and other statements.
• Completes internal and external audit requests.
• Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers and reporting systems ensuring compliance with internal policies and all regulatory requirements.
• Establishes operating financial benchmarks, expense budget monitoring and reporting standards.
• Consistently complies with accounting policies, practice and procedures upholding federal, state and local legal standards and requirements.
• Develops, maintains and enforces internal controls to maximize protection of assets, policies, procedures and workload enterprise-wide
• Assist with monthly accounting close process, specifically with regards to general ledger functions, ensuring an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close.
• Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
• Ad hoc reporting/other duties as assigned.

Experience:
• At minimum four (4+) years of progressive experience in accounting/finance
• Financial services industry experience is a plus
• Strong working knowledge of detailed financial data analysis and USGAAP. Knowledge on IFRS standards is a plus.
• Working knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations is a plus
• Detail oriented, self-motivated, and strong organizational skills.
• Intermediate knowledge on user applications (e.g., MS Office - Word, Access, PowerPoint)
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
