Full Job Description
Role Summary
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team in Ottawa! The Senior Accountant, Corporate Finance supports key corporate finance activities including financial reporting, consolidations, technical accounting, tax compliance, and process improvements. This role partners closely with finance leadership and shared service teams to ensure accurate reporting, strong financial controls, and timely insights. Success in this role means delivering reliable financial information, supporting business decisions, and continuously improving finance processes.

Key Impact / Purpose

  • Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting, consolidations, and month-end close processes
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and KPI tracking to enable data-driven decision-making
  • Strengthen financial processes, controls, and compliance across corporate entities


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Execute full-cycle accounting and financial close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance
  • Support budgeting and forecasting for corporate shared service departments, including variance analysis and cost tracking
  • Prepare and support group financial consolidations, including intercompany reconciliations and elimination entries
  • Research and support the application of technical accounting standards
  • Contribute to FP&A activities, including KPI reporting and financial analysis
  • Support tax compliance activities, including sales tax filings and tax provisions
  • Assist in preparation of Management Discussion & Analysis (MD&A), including KPI tracking and financial commentary
  • Provide support during year-end audits, including responding to auditor requests
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects related to process improvements, internal controls, and finance transformation initiatives


Must haves:

  • 3+ years of progressive full-cycle accounting experience in a corporate, multi-entity, or public accounting environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience working with ERP systems
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams
  • CPA designation (completed or in progress)


Nice to haves:

This is a replacement position.Expected annual compensation;$74,000 - $88,000
