Sr. Accountant
Full Time
Salary Range: $115,000 To $125,000.00 Annually
Location: This is a hybrid position based at the Company's San Diego Facility.
JOB PURPOSE
The Senior Accountant is a key contributor to the consolidated financial close, financial reporting, and control environment of global, multi-entity organization. This role requires advanced analytical skills, hands-on experience with ERP systems, accounting automation and technical accounting expertise. The role is also responsible for the day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, and compliance coordination of the Group's holding companies, ensuring accurate financial records and adherence to reporting and governance requirements.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Financial Close & General Ledger
Own key components of the month-end consolidation close process, including the preparation and posting of consolidation journal entries such as intercompany eliminations and consolidation reclassifications, ensuring timely completion, accuracy, and adherence to established close timelines.
Maintain and govern the chart of accounts, ensuring proper financial classification and reporting consistency across entities.
Manage the complete accounting cycle for holding companies and other non-operating entities, including journal entries, accruals, intercompany activity, and period-end close, including monthly close activities, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reporting requirements.
Ensure holding company ledgers are complete, accurate, and closed in line with the Group's reporting calendar.
Account Reconciliations & Balance Sheet Integrity
Perform and review consolidated balance sheet reconciliations with full supporting schedules, ensuring timely completion, accuracy, and resolution of reconciling items.
Investigate reconciling items, aged balances, and unusual transactions.
Holding Company Accounting & Governance
Maintain statutory books, corporate records, and support documentation for holding companies.
Record and reconcile investments in subsidiaries, intercompany loans, dividends, capital contributions, management fees, and other equity transactions.
Coordinate with Tax, Treasury, Legal, and external service providers on statutory filings, tax compliance, entity governance, and documentation requirements.
Maintain an entity compliance calendar and proactively escalate overdue filings, unresolved balances, or governance matters.
Process Improvement & Ad Hoc Projects
Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend solutions that improve efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness of accounting operations.
Maintain standardized month-end close timelines, supporting schedules, and documentation procedures to improve consistency and efficiency.
Use available ERP functionality, close tools, templates, data analytics, and automation to reduce manual effort, improve accuracy, and shorten cycle times.
Simplify and standardize workflow across entities.
Prepare and maintain tools, checklists, supporting schedules, and procedural documentation to support consistent execution of accounting activities.
Partner with accounting and cross-functional teams to identify root causes, remove bottlenecks, and implement sustainable process improvements.

This role reports to the Corporate Controller and supports the day-to-day accounting operations of a global, multi-entity organization, including month-end close, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and technical accounting and reporting activities for the Group's holding companies and other non-operating entities.
