Summary

The Senior Accountant - Financial Reporting & Analysis plays a critical role in enabling informed decision-making across Mattr by delivering accurate, timely, and decision-useful financial information. This role is central to period-end close, financial reporting, and variance analysis, while also driving continuous improvement in reporting and analytical processes. Partnering closely with Operations, Sales, Plant Finance, and Corporate Finance, this position helps translate financial data into meaningful business insights that support performance and cost efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including preperation of journal entries and review of financial date for accurace and completeness.
  • Prepare and deliver analytical content for monthly business reviews, financial reporting packages, and senior leadership operating mechanisms.
  • Analyze financial results versus prior periods, budgets, and forecasts; investigate variances and clearly articulate key drivers, risks, and opportunities.
  • Support a strong internal control environment by following established policies, maintaining audit-ready documentation, and assisting with internal and external audit requests.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Sales, Plant Finance, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable to ensure accurate expense recognition, revenue recognition, inventory reporting, and proper cut-off during close.
  • Identify and lead opportunities to simplify, standardize, automate, and scale financial reporting and analysis tools and processes to improve accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness.


Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, including hands-on involvement in month-end close and financial reporting.
  • CPA or CMA designation prefferred.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial statement mechanics.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including development of complex financial models and reporting templates.
  • Experience working with ERP and financial reporting or consolidation systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, OneStream, Hyperion) and reporting/BI tools preferred.
  • Experience supporting management or corporate-level reporting in a manufacturing or operational environment preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate financial data into clear, actionable business insights.
