Job DescriptionAs part of the Global Finance Organization, the North America Finance Operations Team is established to manage transactional processing services across North America within Sage.
This hybrid role will manage stakeholders with a focus on liabilities. This is a multifaceted role with accountability for timely and accurate processing of operational accounting leading into accurate period close/reporting. Also playing a significant role in the completion of statutory and regulatory accounting across North America Entity Structure.
This role is a major contributor being accountable for accurate and high-quality balance sheet completion including relevant R2R controls and governance. This is an exciting role for those who are looking to drive a Finance team of the future with a view to automating processes. Delivering value add services to customers and key stakeholders through innovation & process improvement, which is a key part of the Sage culture and would be needed to ensure the success of the RTR team.
The candidate should have strong technical accountancy skills with a proven history of driving change and continuous improvement. They will be experienced partnering with stakeholder relationships across all levels of an organization with established team leadership and management skills.
This is a hybrid role, 3 days per week from our Lawrenceville office.
Key ResponsibilitiesSummary of Role
As part of Sage's Global Finance Organization, this role sits within the North America Finance Operations Team and focuses on delivering high-quality transactional and operational accounting services. With a particular focus on liabilities, you'll help ensure accurate and timely period closes, statutory reporting, and robust balance sheet governance. This is an exciting role for someone passionate about improving processes, driving automation, and adding real value to the business.
What I Will Be Doing
You'll oversee the accurate delivery of financial results, ensuring balance sheet items are complete, compliant, and well-governed. Your responsibilities will include managing journal entries, reviewing reconciliations, handling payroll and accrual entries, and delivering statutory reporting for subsidiaries. You'll support external and internal audits with no material adjustments, provide insightful monthly commentary, and advise partners on accounting principles and policies. Building strong relationships across finance and the wider business, driving a customer-focused service culture, and leading process improvements and automation initiatives will be key parts of your role.
What We Are Looking For
We're looking for a finance leader with proven experience in operational accounting, statutory reporting, and governance. Essential for this role requires a CPA qualification. Strong technical accounting knowledge under IFRS, a keen eye for detail, and a history of driving process improvements are also vital. You'll be confident managing relationships at all levels, supporting your team, and fostering a service-focused mindset that keeps us moving forward as One Sage Finance.
