Position SummaryWe are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team at our Ashland, MA location. In this role, you will manage general accounting functions and support key financial operations, ensuring timely and accurate financial transactions. The role encompasses general ledger management, balance sheet reconciliations, month-end and year-end close processes, as well as accruals and payroll processing. This position is ideal for a candidate with experience in general accounting and who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage general ledger accounting, journal entries, and account reconciliations
- Assist in the month-end and year-end close processes, including posting monthly journal entries and preparing account reconciliations for:
- Balance sheet reconciliations, including:
- Other Receivables
- Prepaid Expenses
- Fixed Assets/Depreciation/CIP
- Amortization
- Accrued Liabilities
- Payroll Liabilities (including 401k, HSA, FSA, Employee Voluntary Benefits)
- Responsible for the accurate booking of monthly accruals, including:
- Freight
- Warranty
- Property Tax
- Commissions/Bonus
- Payroll Accruals
- Responsible for global accounting operations and financial reporting consolidation including:
- Lead, coordinate and execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities for global entities.
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and financial spend analyses.
- Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure timely completion of all close deliverables.
- Coordinate with regional finance teams to ensure consistent accounting policies and practices.
- Manage intercompany transactions, eliminations and intercompany reconciliation processes.
- Support accounting operations across multiple international subsidiaries and legal entities.
- Review and approve daily bank reconciliations of four bank accounts
- Maintain and update fixed asset and CIP schedules
- Support external audits by preparing schedules, providing necessary documentation and coordinating with team members for timely supporting requests
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement
- Maintain the Travel Expense Reimbursement system, acting as program administrator, and assist with employee onboarding and audits
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 8+ years of progressive experience in accounting
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and accounting principles
- Experience with ERP systems, JD Edwards (JDE) is highly preferred
- Highly proactive, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities.
