Job DescriptionSummaryThe Senior Accountant's role involves close interaction with various departments and personnel throughout the organization. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for various close-related responsibilities, including recording Journal Entries, Intercompany Transactions and Month-end Analysis. They will also complete monthly reconciliations, and SOX & Internal Control testing.
Job Functions / Responsibilities Senior Accountant:
- Reconcile cash accounts during the month as well as during close.
- Collaborate and build relationships with Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Accounting, and Treasury to get all cash entries posted in a timely and accurate manner.
- Research and explain all discrepancies within reconciliations.
- Bank reconciliation and various balance sheet reconciliations completed monthly.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly journal entries.
- Understand and utilize the process flow between the functional areas of the accounting department to complete tasks.
- Use multiple accounting systems and understand how they flow into SAP.
- Coordinate monthly close of general ledger.
- Assist with quarterly reporting and audit requirements.
- Acquisition and integration of acquired financial areas.
- Work with Management to identify and resolve control weaknesses, inefficiencies, and process deficiencies.
- Assist with other general accounting functions as required.
Qualifications & Skills Skills Required:
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
• Strong computer skills and proficiency in Excel and SAP.
• Strong organizational skills required to manage various projects.
• Deadline-driven and self-motivated.
Education:
• BS/BA Accounting Degree.
• CPA/CMA and Master's degree a plus, not required.
• 8+ years of relevant accounting experience.
