Responsible for the day-to-day accounting for assigned entities at a fast-paced real estate investment firm in its Los Angeles office. The position focuses on the corporate side of accounting and is ideal for a collaborative, accountable and driven person who is proactive, can multi-task, and enjoys interacting within a professional office environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accounting & Reporting:
• Review journal entries, bank reconciliations, & balance sheet reconciliations for assigned entities
• Responsible for Corporate accounts receivable function
• Review month-end accruals & other manual journal entries
• Review revenue reconciliation
• Review financial statements for all assigned entities
• Review accounts payable invoice coding for assigned entities
• Interface and support operating departments with timely financial information, as needed
• Assist with treasury function setting up wires and review bank transfers when needed
• Prepare quarterly payroll taxes
• Prepare Guarantor Reporting on a quarterly and annual basis
• Prepare annual tax forms such as 571-L, Sales/Use Tax, Culver City business tax
• Prepare quarterly distributions for assigned entities
Budgeting & Analysis:
• Assist with preparation of annual budgets, quarterly reforecasts, and periodic cash flow analysis.
• Perform monthly budget variance analysis, cash flow analysis, and prior year actual analysis
Accounts Receivable:
• Review intercompany billing calculations and review invoices on a timely basis
• Review and post AR batches
• Weekly review of AR aging, ensuring collections and Review monthly I/C reconciliation
• Manage billing follow-up requests and invoice adjustments
Other:
• Identify areas needing improvement and assist with improving and documenting current processes, policies and procedures
• Accounting software super user (creating reports in MRI, SQL Searches)
• Assist with other ad-hoc projects/analyses as needed
• Review charitable contributions ledger & support
Requirements
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting required
• 3-4 years of accounting experience
• At least 1 year of senior management experience
• CPA and/or public accounting experience preferred
• Knowledge of MRI Accounting software required
• High level of Excel knowledge (pivot table and v-lookup)
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment and able to work independently
• Deadline oriented with excellent interpersonal skills
• Manage multiple tasks with strong attention to detail and accuracy
Estimated Salary Range: $105-115k
