Job Description:

YOU WILL BE:

As a Senior Accountant, you play a key role in supporting the company's financial processes by preparing timely and accurate analysis and reconciliation of financial data, including in support of month-end close processes, internal and external reporting, and ad hoc requests from stakeholders. You contribute to daily accounting operations, ensuring compliance with established policies and maintaining a high level of accuracy. You assist in executing efficient month-end and year-end close processes to ensure deadlines are met, financial data is reliable, and variances to budgets/forecasts/prior periods are analyzed, explained and resolved, as needed. In this role, you also support audit activities by preparing documentation and responding to auditor requests. Additionally, you help produce high-quality financial reports and analysis. Your work provides valuable insights that support informed business decisions and overall financial health.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
  • Perform and review general ledger activities including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes to deliver timely and accurate financial reporting aligned with close deadlines
  • Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules, variance analyses, and internal management reports with a focus on data accuracy and insight quality
  • Assist in budgeting/forecasting processes to support financial planning and performance tracking
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly internal reporting packages for finance and accounting leadership, ensuring accuracy, clarity and adherence to timelines
  • Prepare quarterly and annual financial reporting (similar to Form 10-Q/10-K), standalone entity financials, and other periodic reporting materials as required
  • Lead the quarterly and annual financial preparation process, including gathering footnote or support schedules from other teams, updating documents, drafting language and completing disclosure checklists
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures to support audit readiness and risk mitigation
  • Support internal and external audits by providing timely documentation and clear explanations to meet audit deadlines and requirements, lead the coordination of audit request delivery across teams
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and identify process improvement opportunities, including automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and reporting accuracy
  • Monitor new pronouncements and developments in accounting and financial reporting guidance, assist in impact analysis and implementation planning, draft technical accounting memos, and support auditor review


WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

Required Qualifications (Minimum Requirements):
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
  • 4-6 years of accounting experience in public accounting or industry
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, accounting principles, internal controls, and strong financial literacy
  • Experience with general ledger and other financial systems and preparation of account reconciliations and analysis
  • OracleEPM/Hyperion or similar financial data tool experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Workday, Oracle, SAP, PeopleSoft)
  • Strong communication and presentation skills


Preferred Qualifications (nice to haves):
  • Certification: Active CPA license or CPA candidacy near completion strongly preferred
  • Experience: Background in Big 4/public accounting or specific industries (e.g., retail, tech, manufacturing)
  • Technical Tools: Experience with tools like Oracle EPM, Hyperion, or advanced Excel skills
  • Specialized Knowledge: Familiarity with SOX compliance or other regulatory frameworks
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, communication, and ability to work cross-functionally
  • Process Improvement: Exposure to automation or process optimization initiatives
