As a Senior Accountant at Easy Street Capital, you will convert detailed loan-level data from multiple sources into timely, GAAP-compliant financial statements. We are looking for a highly organized and driven individual to join our Accounting Team at the premier private lender in Texas. You'll get to work at a fun, fast-paced, and growing company in our vibrant downtown office.
Responsibilities will be focused on financial reporting, while also providing cross-functional support to operational teams and seeking to proactively add value to the Easy Street Capital debt platform.
Responsibilities:- Be an essential part of our month-end close process by recording journal entries, preparing account reconciliations, conducting flux analyses, and ensuring close is completed timely and accurately
- Be a key player in identifying process improvements to streamline close and build scalable solutions to support the growth of Easy Street Capital
- Contribute to external audits and ensure compliance with internal controls
- Compile support for various tax filings and own assigned regulatory reporting tasks
- Assist in researching technical accounting matters
- Prepare ad hoc financial analysis and reporting in support of Leadership
Qualifications:- Bachelor's in Accounting required; CPA or public accounting experience (preferred)
- 3+years of accounting experience (required); prior real estate or financial service industry experience specifically related to FinTechs, residential or mortgage loans, or securitization trusts (preferred)
- Proficiency in Excel is required (there is a test); experience with BI tools exposure to SQL, middleware applications, and/or data science (preferred)
- Prior experience working with QuickBooks (strongly preferred)
- Previous technical accounting experience in any of the following areas is a plus: revenue recognition (ASC 606), servicing and transfers (ASC 860), consolidations (ASC 810), FVO (ASC 825), and/or equity and equity-linked financial instruments (ASC 480)
