This role partners with cross-functional stakeholders and international colleagues to execute monthly closing, maintain strong internal controls, and drive process improvements across the accounting function.

This role plays a critical part in maintaining financial accuracy across multiple entities. The ideal candidate thrives in an independent work environment, maintains strong attention to detail, and operates with professionalism when interacting with both employees and external clients.

Core Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and maintain balance sheet account reconciliations; research and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner.
  • Analyze income statement and balance sheet fluctuations; investigate variances and provide clear explanations to management and business partners.
  • Support preparation of internal and external financial reporting packages, including roll forwards, schedules, and disclosure support as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, SOX/internal control requirements, and documentation standards; identify control gaps and recommend remediation.
  • Support external audit and internal audit requests, including PBC schedules, walkthroughs, and timely responses to inquiries.
  • Assist with global/intercompany accounting, including intercompany invoicing, reconciliation, eliminations support, and coordination with regional finance teams.
  • Support fixed assets accounting (capitalization, depreciation, disposals) and/or lease accounting activities, as assigned.
  • Support revenue/COGS/expense accounting activities (e.g., cut-off, accruals, prepaid amortization) in accordance with applicable standards and company policies.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to provide accounting guidance, support budget-to-actual analysis, and improve forecasting inputs.
  • Maintain and enhance close checklists; contribute to standardization across global processes.
  • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives (e.g., reconciliations tools, close management, workflow enhancements) to improve quality and cycle time.
  • Support system initiatives such as ERP upgrades, new entity integrations, chart of accounts changes, and process/control design.
  • Provide guidance and informal coaching to junior staff; review work for accuracy and completeness, as needed.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • 2-4+ years of progressive accounting experience (public accounting and/or corporate accounting), commensurate with level.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP (and/or IFRS) and general ledger accounting, including reconciliations and close processes.
  • Experience preparing and posting journal entries and performing account analyses.
  • Proficiency in Excel (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, basic formulas) and comfort working with large datasets.
  • Experience working in an ERP environment (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Sage) and financial reporting tools.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced close environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain accounting results to non-accounting partners.

Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA or CPA-eligible (or international equivalent); public accounting experience a plus.
  • Prior experience supporting a multinational organization, multiple entities, foreign currency, and/or intercompany processes.
  • Experience with close/reconciliation tools (e.g., Blackline) and/or automation (e.g., Power Query/Power BI, Alteryx) is a plus.
