Full-Time, Exempt Position - $90,000 - $105,0000 Growth & Development OpportunitiesWhat is a Senior Accountant?The Senior Accountant plays a key role in supporting the accounting operations of a rapidly growing healthcare organization. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, this position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, supporting the month-end close process, preparing financial reports and reconciliations, performing financial analysis, and assisting with audits and regulatory reporting. The Senior Accountant partners with cross-functional teams to maintain compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) while driving continuous process improvements and operational efficiency.
What your role is:- Support the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes by preparing journal entries, supporting schedules, and financial reconciliations.
- Prepare, review, and maintain general ledger account reconciliations and monthly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy and completeness.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements, management reports, and internal reporting packages.
- Perform variance analysis by comparing financial results to budgets, forecasts, and prior periods, identifying trends and providing recommendations.
- Support revenue recognition processes in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Perform daily cash management activities, including bank reconciliations and cash reporting.
- Assist with the preparation of audit schedules, supporting documentation, and responses to external audit requests.
- Support annual tax reporting requirements by gathering, organizing, and validating financial data.
- Assist in maintaining and strengthening internal controls to ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and support accounting system enhancements that improve efficiency and reporting accuracy.
- Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Payroll, and other departments to resolve accounting issues and support organizational initiatives.
- Maintain accurate financial records while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting best practices.
- Perform additional accounting and finance-related duties and special projects as assigned.
What's required from you?- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- Two to three years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statements, and variance analysis.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with accounting and financial systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Healthcare, behavioral health, or ABA industry experience preferred.
- CPA or CPA candidate preferred but not required.
