Full Job Description
Overview

The Senior Accountant will share responsibility for internal financial reporting activities, month end close processes, commission calculations, managing internal controls to adhere to audit requirements, and updating our accounting documentation as we implement best-practices.

The base salary is aligned with market data and is estimated to be between $75,000 to $95,000 with the ability to achieve additional compensation through a bonus. This salary range reflects base compensation for the position across all Canadian locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by work location and other factors, including relevant education/training, experience, and internal equity. This posting is for an existing vacancy withing our organization.

Responsibilities
  • Accounting support for Canada Consulting, Valuation & Advisory, and Project Management services
  • Review and verify revenue recognition for service lines listed above
  • Process and review commission calculations for Valuation and Consulting practices
  • Assist with month-end close to ensure results are prepared in accordance with the Company27s policy (i.e., reviewing output from the NetSuite G/L, prepare balance sheet reconciliations to identify potential errors or omissions, compiling financial statements and their related support)
  • Review GL activity of accuracy, create accruals as required
  • Support preparation of timely and accurate financial reports including variance analysis
  • Complete bank reconciliations
  • Assist with special projects and other functions as required by manager
  • Assist in the preparation of schedules provided to external auditors and other external financial subject matter experts
  • Assist with annual budget and forecast process
Qualifications
  • Bachelor27s degree in accounting from an accredited institution
  • Certified Public Accountant / or in process of gaining certification, strongly preferred
  • 5-7 years of experience required; public accounting and Real Estate experience ideal
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Extremely strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines, with attention to detail and the ability to work independently
  • Proven ability to respond within short time constraints and meet deadlines, while maintaining accuracy
  • Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office products
  • Experience drafting and/or editing financial statements and footnotes
  • High technical accounting proficiency, with experience auditing account reconciliations and revenue recognition; exposure to US GAAP a Plus
  • Multi-national experience, or exposure to accounting in a multi-currency environment a plus
  • NetSuite, Adaptive, Solution 7, and Active Disclosure experience ideal but not required
