Job Title: Senior Accountant
Job Description
The Senior Accountant oversees general accounting activities for an assigned product line, ensuring accurate financial reporting, robust analysis of results, and compliance with U.S. GAAP and IFRS. This role partners closely with operating management, supports forecasting and budgeting, and contributes to audits and key business initiatives while guiding staff-level accounting team members.
Responsibilities
  • Perform general accounting for the assigned product line, including month-end close activities, review of physical inventory adjustments, preparation of journal entries, and review of financial statements.
  • Analyze monthly profit and loss (P&L) statements and provide clear commentary on significant variances and trends.
  • Engage actively with operating management to understand underlying business issues and ensure product line financial reports comply with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Prepare monthly performance measures and balance sheet financial reporting to support business decision-making.
  • Analyze and reconcile balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Participate in regular product line team meetings to understand key initiatives and business issues, and to build strong working relationships with team members.
  • Prepare and present relevant financial data to product line and operations teams as needed.
  • Distribute monthly product line financial statements to operations, review results with them, and resolve unusual items or questions.
  • Prepare other business reports as required and respond to ad hoc business inquiries and requests in a timely manner.
  • Prepare workpapers and supporting schedules for mid-year and year-end audit processes, including responses to tax-related requests.
  • Assist with the monthly forecasting process and the annual budgeting process for the assigned product line.
  • Guide and support a staff accountant as needed, providing direction and oversight on tasks and deliverables.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • At least 3 years of professional accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Experience with general ledger accounting and account reconciliation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Knowledge of SAP.
  • Ability to work effectively under time constraints with a large and diverse group of internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple processes and projects under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to research and resolve ambiguous financial information effectively.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment and exposure to cost analysis.
  • Knowledge of Hyperion.
  • Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements or public accounting experience is a plus.
  • Occasional local travel flexibility.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and operating management.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $105000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
