Your Impact Alpha-9 Oncology is seeking a Senior Accountant to support the company's accounting operations, financial reporting, and monthly close processes. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, this role serves as a key contributor to the Finance organization, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of accounting activities while helping strengthen internal controls as the company continues to grow.
You will partner across Finance, Human Resources, and external service providers to support payroll, audits, financial reporting, and process improvements. This role offers broad exposure across the accounting function and the opportunity to help build scalable processes that support Alpha-9's continued growth.
How You'll Contribute - Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and analytical reviews.
- Support effective internal controls over financial reporting in accordance with SOX requirements; assist with new control design as operations scale.
- Support quarterly reviews and annual audits by preparing schedules, responding to auditor requests, and ensuring financial information and documentation are organized, complete, and readily accessible.
- Coordinate payroll with HR and external providers.
- Serve as a backup resource for procure-to-pay activities, by developing a strong understanding of end-to-end invoice processing, payment controls, and related accounting impacts.
- Assist with the evaluation of non-routine transactions, accounting policy application, and implementation of new accounting guidance, as assigned.
- Contribute to improvements in accounting processes, systems, and close efficiency while maintaining high reporting quality.
- Maintain a strong understanding of company policies, procedures, and accounting standards.
The Skills You Bring - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA license preferred.
- 3-5+ years of relevant accounting experience (public accounting and/or industry experience preferred).
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP with hands-on experience supporting month-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Experience supporting audits and familiarity with internal controls or SOX environments preferred.
- Experience with international accounting standards and tax law.
- Detail oriented, adaptable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with NetSuite preferred.
CompensationAlpha-9 Oncology is committed to pay transparency and equitable compensation. The salary range for this position represents the Company's good-faith estimate of base compensation at the time of posting, established using external market data and internal benchmarking. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, education, and internal equity.
This role is eligible for an annual bonus, equity participation, and a comprehensive benefits package.
