Senior Accountant

Location: Corporate Office - Pittsburgh , PA Onsite

Reports to: Controller

Position Type: Full-Time

Position Overview

The Senior Accountant is a key member of the finance team responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting the company's financial operations across a multi-branch distribution environment.

This role provides leadership in the monthly close process, financial analysis, and compliance, while partnering cross-functionally with operations, sales, and leadership to support data-driven decision-making and scalable growth. The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in strengthening financial discipline, improving processes, and supporting AlarMax's continued expansion.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Financial Reporting & Analysis
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Perform variance analysis and provide insights to leadership
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP
  • Support management reporting and business performance analysis

2. General Ledger & Close Process
  • Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries and reconciliations
  • Lead and execute month-end and year-end close processes
  • Maintain supporting schedules and documentation
  • Ensuretimelyandaccuratefinancial reporting

3. Audit & Compliance
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation


  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting policies
  • Assistin implementation of audit recommendations

4. Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Assistwith annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes
  • Analyze financial trends and support planning initiatives
  • Partner with branch and operational leaders to align financial goals

5. Process Improvement & Systems
  • Identifyand implement improvements in accounting processes and workflows
  • Support ERP system enhancements and optimization
  • Improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of financial operations

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Leadership
  • Collaborate with operations, sales, and leadership teams
  • Providefinancial insights to support business decisions
  • Mentor and review work of staff accountants as needed
  • Promote a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement
