Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a Senior Account Leader/Project Manager to support growth in water, wastewater, and stormwater opportunities across upstate New York. This position is based in our Clifton Park, New York office.

In this role, you will work with area leaders, area managers, project managers, and technical experts to win and deliver projects that meet client objectives and provide exceptional service. You will also help advance strategic growth, market planning, and key initiatives across the market area.

The role requires strong leadership, technical knowledge of water infrastructure and environmental services, and the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams. You will serve as a trusted client advisor, pursue growth opportunities, support proposal development, and oversee project planning, execution, and financial performance.

Role accountabilities:

The Senior Account Leader/Project Manager will implement strategies to expand services to current clients and to add new clients, while also working with our technical experts and professional staff to manage the high-quality delivery of existing projects.

Responsibilities include:
  • Build trusted relationships with client decision-makers at multiple levels. This involves understanding client organizations, processes, and cultures to shape value-added solutions
  • Develop insight into local utility challenges, client needs, planned projects, market conditions, and pursuit opportunities.
  • Lead pursuit plans and develop client engagement strategies and participate in task order development and interviews to win new projects.
  • Coordinate with project managers to deliver high-quality services and deliverables on schedule.
  • Lead project planning, design, construction administration, scope development, and cost proposals for task orders and projects.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, subconsultants, and internal stakeholders.
  • Manage scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify risks, issues, and changes early; develop mitigation strategies and communicate impacts.
  • Serve as a senior technical resource for municipal water, wastewater, stormwater, resilience, utility planning, design, construction, and program management projects while supporting staff development.
  • Support resource planning and allocation with leadership and project teams.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level staff while supporting financial performance, growth, and business success.
  • Partner with regional and national leaders to align account growth with business objectives and overarching growth strategy.

***Please note up to 30% travel may be required for client meetings, client or professional events, project delivery, and other activities needed to support projects or business growth.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Water Resources, or a related field of study
  • 15 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in business development and/or project management in the water, wastewater, stormwater, resilience, and solid waste sectors.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in New York or ability to obtain within 6 months.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Water Resources, or a related field of study
  • 10 years of relevant sales and account management experience

We offer nine paid holidays and 20 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $160,000- $220,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
