Full Job Description
SUMMARY
Curative is seeking a Senior Account Executive to manage a book of mid-market and small group accounts across our Texas book of business while serving as a senior resource and mentor to other Texas-based Account Executives. This role blends direct client and broker
relationship ownership with informal leadership responsibilities, acting as an extension of the Director of Account Management to support team development, escalation handling, and consistency of best practices across the TX AE team. This is an individual contributor role - it does not carry formal supervisory or direct-report responsibility.el of service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Book of Business Management (Primary)

  • Own a portfolio of mid-market and small group accounts, serving as the primary relationship owner for assigned employer groups and their brokers
  • Manage the full account lifecycle: onboarding, renewals, plan changes, escalated service issues, and retention strategy
  • Partner with brokers to support new business proposals, renewal negotiations, and plan design recommendations
  • Ensure compliance with ACA, ERISA, COBRA, and applicable Texas state insurance regulations across the assigned book
  • Track and report on renewal status, retention, and at-risk accounts using internal systems (e.g., Google Suite)


Team Support & Mentorship (Secondary)

  • Serve as a go-to resource for less-tenured TX Account Executives on plan designquestions, broker negotiation strategy, and complex case escalations
  • Assist the Director in onboarding and ramping new AEs, including shadowing, role-play practice, and informal skills coaching
  • Help standardize and document best practices, templates, and workflows for the TX AE team
  • Help coordinate backup for coverage of peers; accounts during absences, leave, or high- volume renewal periods
  • Flag systemic issues, training gaps, or process breakdowns to the Director proactively
  • Represent the AE team's perspective in cross-functional projects as delegated by the Director

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Underwriting, Compliance, and Operations to resolve complex account issues
  • Partner with the Director on special projects, including process improvement initiatives and team training materials

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE IN THE FIRST 6-12 MONTHS

  • Full ownership and strong retention performance across assigned book of business
  • Established as a trusted resource other TX AEs turn to for guidance
  • Contributed to at least one team process improvement or training resource
  • Seamless backup coverage provided during peer absences with no client-facing disruption


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

  • 5+ years of experience as an Account Executive or Account Manager in group health insurance, preferably with a carrier, broker, or TPA
  • Demonstrated experience managing mid-market and small group accounts in the Texas market
  • Working knowledge of ACA, ERISA, COBRA, and Texas Insurance Code requirements relevant to group health plans
  • Strong track record of renewal retention and broker relationship management
  • Comfort mentoring or informally coaching less experienced colleagues, without formal management authority
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in broker- and client-facing contexts
  • Proficiency with Google Suite and account management tools


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

  • Bachelor;s degree preferred; equivalent industry experience considered


REQUIRED LICENSES

  • State Health, Life and Variable Annuity license.

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK/TRAVEL This is a full-time remote position, and core hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. This position may at times require extended working hours and weekend work. Travel may be applicable. This position requires the Account Executive to reside in TX.
