Estimated On-Target Earnings (OTE): The total estimated OTE for this role, including the base salary, commissions, bonuses, and allowances, is typically $150,000 - $200,000+ per year, with no cap on commission earnings. The final compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity factors.

Job Summary:

The Senior Account Executive for the Denver location is a key hybrid role, focusing primarily on driving new business development and managing a book of accounts within the region. This position is the primary individual sales contributor for Denver, responsible for meeting personal revenue quotas while also providing direct coaching and mentorship to one junior sales team member.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This role includes the direct responsibility of managing and mentoring one Business Development Associate (BDA). The Senior Account Executive will:
  • Provide hands-on coaching, sales strategy guidance, and support to the BDA to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Oversee the BDA's activities, focusing on lead generation, prospecting, and pipeline building to ensure alignment with regional goals.
  • Offer continuous professional development and serve as a resource for complex sales situations.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute individual sales plans and territory strategies to achieve personal sales quotas and contribute to regional revenue targets.
  • Actively prospect, negotiate, and close complex deals with new clients in the Denver area, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with a dedicated book of key accounts, partners, and industry stakeholders to drive retention and upselling opportunities.
  • Manage a personal sales pipeline and provide accurate, timely forecasting for the Denver territory.
  • Directly manage, coach, and support the assigned Business Development Associate (BDA) to drive successful lead generation and skill development.
  • Recruit, onboard, train, and mentor the assigned BDA.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Operations, and Finance, to ensure seamless execution of sales initiatives and client fulfillment.
  • Conduct market analysis and competitive research to identify new business opportunities and market trends within the Denver region.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by providing excellent service and support to clients.
  • Prepare and present regular reports and updates on personal sales performance and the BDA's progress to the VP of Sales.
  • Address customer inquiries, concerns, and escalations in a timely and professional manner.


Requirements

Required Skills:
  • Proven track record of success in exceeding individual sales quotas and driving revenue growth.
  • Strong leadership, mentorship, and business acumen, with the desire to coach junior team members.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a customer-centric approach to account management and new business development.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate a direct report.
  • Proficiency in sales management software and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Willingness to travel within the region as needed.
  • Knowledge of the Building Controls, Building Automation, HVAC, Energy Management, or related industry is preferred but not required.

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, business development, or a related field, with a proven track record of success.
  • Previous experience mentoring, coaching, or managing junior sales talent is strongly preferred.

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
