Responsibilities:

5G Strategy & Open RAN Modernization:
Enterprise Synchronization: Support the DCS G-6 in providing technical oversight, synchronization, and governance across all Army 5G experimentation and installation pilot programs.
Architecture Implementation: Guide the deployment of Private 5G Networks and Open Radio Access Network (ORAN) architectures tailored to military installation security and performance needs.
Spectrum & Multi-Operator Management: Ensure Army 5G data operates securely within DoD-assigned spectrum frequencies and design commercial architectures that support neutral hosting and multi-operator core networks.

Mission Partner Environment (MPE) & Interoperability:
Joint & Coalition Integration: Drive joint interoperability initiatives to securely synchronize Army command centers with Joint and Multi-National forces (e.g., INDOPACOM, EUCOM, CENTCOM).
Data Exchange Frameworks: Design technical solutions that cross security domains (Cross Domain Solutions) to ensure secure, real-time data flows between legacy military communication networks and commercial 5G systems.
Standards Representation: Represent G-6 equities in Joint, DoD, and international military telecommunications forums to align Army requirements with overarching defense strategies.

Cybersecurity & Network Monitoring:
Vulnerability Mitigation: Assess, mitigate, and continuously monitor 5G vulnerabilities within military infrastructure to shield networks from sophisticated national security threats.
Independent Stream Monitoring: Partner with DISA and US CYBERCOM to help deploy advanced continuous monitoring capabilities for non-commercial, government-transiting 5G packet streams.

Qualifications:

Required:
  • Must have TS/SCI clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical, IT, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of DoD progressive experience in wireless network architecture, telecommunications systems engineering, or mobile network operations.
  • Deep technical expertise in 3GPP 5G standards (including Release 15/16/17 and emerging 6G), cellular core networks, and RF spectrum management.
  • Ability to produce clear, concise, and succinct staff products. You must be able to translate technical concepts into actionable insights and present them confidently to senior leaders.
  • Proven experience advising and collaborating directly with military leaders (O-6 and above) and SES personnel.
  • Proven hands-on experience with wireless broadband infrastructure, enterprise deployments, and zero-trust cybersecurity architectures applied to mobile networks.


Desired:
  • Joint Staff, Army/Service Headquarters, or OSD experience at the O-4/O-5 (or equivalent) level or above-specifically in roles requiring heavy staff work and brief production.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Army Unified Network Plan (AUNP) and tactical network capabilities at the division and echelon-above-corps levels.
  • Direct experience testing, piloting, or deploying O-RAN Alliance-compliant software and decoupled hardware solutions in secure settings.
  • Familiarity with Coalition Joint All-Domain Command and Control (CJADC2) and specific MPE data sharing standards, data centric security (DCS), and cross-domain technologies.
