Summary

This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response, headquartered in Washington, District of Columbia.

Duties

Help

As a Security Specialist (Special Security Representative), you will:

  • Ensure compliance with the physical security standards outlined in Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 705 and all other applicable directives and policies.
  • Maintain security records, directives, and tracking systems.
  • Process personnel security actions, including background investigations and visit requests.
  • Ensure that all classified information is channeled through the appropriate staff offices and is provided only to employees that are authorized recipients and have the need to know.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Minimum Qualifications: You must have one year of specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following:

  • Supporting Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs), including construction, accreditation and re-accreditation activities, inspections, facility security documentation, and compliance with Intelligence Community and federal security standards.
  • Managing classified information and materials, including document control, inventories, transmission and accountability records, destruction procedures, audits, and implementation of security requirements outlined in classified contracts and security guidance documentation.
  • Verifying personnel security clearances and access eligibility, processing visit requests, maintaining access records, and controlling entry into secure facilities in accordance with government security policies and procedures.
  • Supporting Communications Security (COMSEC) programs and secure communications capabilities, including coordination of secure systems and accounts, safeguarding classified communications assets, and ensuring compliance with applicable security policies and procedures.

If such experience is on a part-time basis, you must provide the average number of hours worked per week as well as the beginning and ending dates of the experience so it can be fully credited.
