Job Description

As a Senior Security Specialist, you will work under the general guidance and direction of the Facility Security Officer (FSO), all levels of leadership, and both internal and external customers to support a variety of interesting and dynamic programs. This role provides onsite support for the site's collateral security program.

Develops, and administers security programs and procedures for classified/proprietary materials, documents, and equipment. Implements federal security regulations that apply to company operations. Prepares manuals outlining regulations, and establishes procedures for handling, storing, and keeping records, and for granting personnel and visitors access to restricted records and materials. Investigates security violations and prepares reports specifying preventive action to be taken.

Tasks include, but are not limited to:
  • Enforce government and company security policies and provide direction and guidance to program personnel
  • Interface with program managers and team members ensuring daily security needs are addressed
  • Provide prime/subcontractor security support and direction including the development and maintenance of DD254's and security guidance for the BAE Systems AMS Headquarters, which can span across all of the sector
  • Develop and revise program level security plans, procedures and instructions
  • Provide classification guidance to employees, develop and provide security education and awareness training, and conduct security briefings
  • Participate in security self-inspection teams and audits, and investigate security incidents
  • Support other security disciplines with the collateral and SAP program to include: Personnel Security, Physical Security, Information Assurance (IA), Communications Security (COMSEC), Operational Security (OPSEC), Document Control and Visitor Control
  • Interpret government and internal company policies, develop, and implement security plans and procedures utilizing the new 32 CFR Part 117 National Industrial Security Operating Manual (NISPOM) as well as any other specific programmatic instruction manuals
  • Responsible for reviewing, drafting, and ensuring compliance for all collateral DD254s
  • Assist with international requirements to include government to government shipments, foreign visitor requirements, and Export Control compliance
  • Provide support as necessary during emergencies
  • Conduct combination changes, facility checks and alarm response, and also provide occasional lobby coverage
  • Assist with facility construction and continued accreditation requirements
  • Provide security guidance to company personnel
  • Conduct security clearance indoctrination briefings and debriefings as necessary
  • Conduct investigations and interviews of non-compliance matters and issues relating to security violations
  • Participate as a team member in misc. groups (e.g., Site Leadership Team, Insider Threat Local Counsel, etc.)
  • Complete appropriate documentation according to company and government directives
  • Assist with security reviews to include Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) visits, formal self-inspections, and Staff Assistance Visits (internal audits) of other BAE Systems facilities
  • Support the site's Information Security (INFOSEC) office with document control and document accountability
  • Other duties as assigned

Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full- time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.

Required Skills and Education

  • An active Secret Security Clearance with Top Secret Clearance eligibility
  • 4+ years of relevant security experience to the position
  • National Industrial Security Program (NISP) experience
  • High level of personal motivation and initiative to learn and acquire new skills, and adapt seamlessly to an ever-changing security environment
  • Customer focused, excellent communicator, and ability to work with limited supervision
  • Strong organizational skills and experience with Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
  • Minimum of a high school diploma


Preferred Skills and Education

  • Previous experience with DISS, NISS, and SIMS
  • DD254 experience
  • Previous experience with alarm systems
  • Facility Security Officer Program Management for Possessing Facilities Certificate (via CDSE)
  • Top Secret security clearance eligibility
