Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods (minimum of 1 hour).
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be capable of functioning independently and remaining calm in high-pressure or intense situations.
  • Candidates must maintain professional appearance and demeanor and demonstrate the judgment, maturity, emotional control, and situational awareness expected of an experienced law enforcement specialist.
  • Must be able to respond to emergencies quickly.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in high-stress environments while demonstrating professionalism and sound judgment
  • Must pass a background check
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays


IDEAL CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate will be a retired MPD, U.S. Park Police, or U.S. Capitol Police officer in

good standing who brings significant law-enforcement experience and understands the

demands of protecting a high-profile media facility.

Candidates must be comfortable working around executives, journalists, producers,

visitors, and members of the public. The successful candidate will demonstrate

professionalism, maturity, excellent judgment, and the ability to function effectively in a

fast-paced environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide a highly visible, professional armed security presence at the assigned

national media facility.
• Protect employees, executives, visitors, guests, and client property.
• Monitor access control, visitor screening, employee entrances, and restricted

areas.
• Respond promptly and appropriately to security incidents, emergencies, alarms,

disturbances, and threats.
• Maintain a high level of situational awareness and identify potential security

concerns before they escalate.
• Respond to active-threat/active-shooter situations in accordance with established

procedures and training.
• Conduct security patrols and inspections as assigned.
• Enforce client security policies, post orders, and procedures.
• Maintain accurate incident reports and daily activity reports.
• Communicate effectively with client management, PGS USA supervisors, fellow

security officers, and law-enforcement personnel.
• Coordinate with MPD and other emergency responders when necessary.
• Exercise sound judgment regarding the appropriate use of force and escalation of

incidents.
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding client operations, personnel, security

procedures, and sensitive information.
• Provide professional customer service while maintaining a strong security posture.

LICENSE & COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS

A current D.C. Special Police Officer (SPO) license is mandatory.

Candidates must maintain all required D.C. licensing, firearms qualifications, training, and

certifications necessary to legally perform armed security duties in the District.

Salary: $79,000-$86,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience
