Security Management Consultant

Non-Union Position
Security Management; Portland, Oregon (US-OR)

Hybrid schedule available for Oregon & Washington residents.

NOTE:

Employees based at our Headquarters are required to work on-site a minimum of two days per week. Specific in-office days may vary by team and business needs. This hybrid schedule supports collaboration, connection, and engagement while also offering flexibility for remote work.

The Role:

This position will serve to assist with the coordination of all company security plans, provide security related consultation to our internal and external stakeholders, as well as lead the investigations into NW Natural security-related issues.

Day to Day:

  • Develop, maintain and present necessary trainings for security operations.
  • Create and maintain cooperative relationships with external NW Natural security and law enforcement partners.
  • Inspect and maintain all security apparatus.
  • Support and maintain a security SharePoint site on the company intranet.
  • Assist with the design and implementation of comprehensive training and exercises to test the company's security capabilities, identify weaknesses, and partner with necessary departments/individuals to strengthen the overall security capability.
  • Investigate perceived violations of law perpetrated against the company and prepare same for possible prosecution.
  • Document security incidents involving the company and its employees.
  • Assist with the documentation of all security related activities and policies and procedures.
  • Perform sensitive internal investigations, as necessary.
  • Testify in trials involving investigations, as necessary.
  • Assist with emergency management related activities, as necessary.
  • Support the company's commitment to a culture of safe work practices.
  • Other tasks as assigned


Come on your first day with:

  • Bachelor's Degree in criminal justice or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in an investigative position.
  • Experience in the private sector preferred
  • Demonstrated organizational skills to manage multiple and varied projects/work initiatives simultaneously.
  • Requires excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees, diffuse adverse situations, and remain calm under pressure.
  • Experience with security apparatus including, video surveillance systems, intrusion alarm systems, keycard access systems.
  • Proven skill and ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing; application of active listening skills; group presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Proven ability to be self-directed and manage time and deadlines effectively.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and creative thinking skills; ability to define problems, develop and present recommendations, organize information, and identify alternative solutions.
  • Computer skills and the ability to apply them to various Company systems, word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.

Base salary range: $88,700.00 - $126,350.00 per year, depending on qualifications

Annual Target Incentive: Level 2, 9.5% target
Targets are calculated using eligible earnings during plan year participation. Payout, if earned, is based on company and individual performance for each plan year and may range from 0% - 200% of target. Targets are subject to change in subsequent plan years. Must be employed by September 30 in order to receive any prorated payout.
