Security Engineer (Blockchain & Cryptography)We are seeking a highly skilled Security Engineer to help build secure, resilient software that supports next-generation digital asset and cryptographic platforms. This is a hands-on backend engineering role focused on implementing advanced cryptographic concepts into production-ready software-not a traditional cybersecurity or security operations position. You will work alongside cryptographers and software engineers to develop secure transaction processing, digital asset custody capabilities, and trusted execution environments.
This is an excellent opportunity for engineers who enjoy solving complex security challenges involving blockchain technologies, secure systems design, and modern cryptographic frameworks.
Responsibilities- Develop secure backend software using Rust, Go, or C++ with a focus on cryptographic applications.
- Partner with cryptographers to implement production-ready solutions for digital asset custody and secure key management.
- Build and integrate secure transaction signing, wallet services, and blockchain connectivity across multiple networks.
- Design software that leverages secure coding practices and protects against common attack vectors, including side-channel attacks.
- Implement and integrate Multiparty Computation (MPC) frameworks and secure cryptographic protocols.
- Develop software utilizing Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs), including Intel SGX and remote attestation concepts.
- Perform security-focused code reviews, threat modeling, and vulnerability analysis throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Design secure communication between distributed services using networking and RPC frameworks.
- Build secure storage solutions for encrypted key material, audit logs, and sensitive application data.
- Participate in Agile development activities including research spikes, prototyping, architecture discussions, and production implementation.
Required Qualifications- 5+ years of professional backend software engineering experience.
- Strong experience developing applications in Rust (preferred), Go, or C++.
- Experience building secure software with an understanding of secure coding practices.
- Knowledge of applied cryptography and secure protocol implementation.
- Experience with cryptographic libraries such as OpenSSL or MPC-related frameworks.
- Familiarity with Multiparty Computation (MPC) concepts and secure key management.
- Experience integrating with blockchain nodes, APIs, or digital asset platforms.
- Understanding of blockchain transaction formats and transaction signing concepts.
- Strong threat modeling skills and experience identifying security vulnerabilities in distributed systems.
- Experience with secure storage, encryption, and backend data protection.
- Familiarity with containerized applications and cloud security best practices.
- Understanding of Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs), Intel SGX, or remote attestation concepts.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience building blockchain or digital asset platforms.
- Experience developing cryptocurrency wallets or custody solutions.
- Familiarity with Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, or other blockchain ecosystems.
- Experience with Hardware Security Modules (HSMs).
- Exposure to Zero Knowledge Proofs (ZKP), homomorphic encryption, or advanced cryptographic techniques.
- Experience working with trusted enclave frameworks such as EGO, Edgeless EGO, Gramine, or Occlum.
- Startup or emerging technology experience developing secure distributed systems.
- Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field is preferred but not required.
What We're Looking ForThe ideal candidate is first and foremost a strong software engineer with experience building secure backend systems. While experience in blockchain or digital assets is highly desirable, we are equally interested in engineers who have deep expertise in secure software development, cryptography, and distributed systems and are excited to work on cutting-edge technologies.
This role offers the opportunity to contribute to research, prototyping, and production development of highly secure systems that support the future of digital assets and cryptographic infrastructure.
