Job Description

You will assist with analyzing data from a myriad of data sources including Security Incident and Event Management systems, Endpoint Protection Platforms, Firewalls, Vulnerability scanners, and Intrusion Prevention & Detection Systems to detect and respond to potential security incidents or vulnerabilities. As part of the Cyber Security Operations Center (SOC) you will report to the Assistant Director of Security Operations and work with Information Security team at the Charles River Campus. Upon successful completion of your first 90 days of service with the University, you will become eligible to participate in the University's Hybrid work program.

You will:

  • Monitor, analyze, and process security events to identify and protect university assets.
  • Help process results from vulnerability scans to help mitigate risk.
  • Assist with maintaining security procedures to ensure they remains current.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate security risks.
  • Take part in an on call duty cycle, monitoring tools and providing 24x7 availability to respond to security events when needed.


Required Skills

You have:

  • Demonstrated interest and 2 or more years of experience in the cyber security field.
  • Familiarity with one or more security tools such as information and event management (SIEM) systems, vulnerability scanners, end point protection software, firewalls.
  • Knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, and security technologies.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as HIPAA, PCI-DSS, DMCA, and NIST. Bonus Qualifications: If you do not meet these, you are still encouraged to apply; we value employees with a willingness to learn.


Soft skills:
  • Experience using ServiceNow.
  • Certificates:
  • ITIL
  • One or more relevant GIAC, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent certifications.
