Job Title: Section Manager - Assembly SG31
Requisition Summary
This role is responsible for driving the implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles and ensuring execution of process improvements in the areas of safety, quality, deliver, cost, morale, and environment. Scope of responsibility includes 5-7 direct reports and 100-200 non-exempt employees. Successful candidate must be willing to work multiple shifts, i.e., day, evening and/or night, as needed.
Job Functions / Responsibilities
• Performs full range of complex, clerical or specialized administrative tasks, requiring knowledge of organization and policies.
• Implements Lean Manufacturing Principles in assigned departments to include standard work, visual management, workplace organization, and teamwork
• Manage improvement efforts and operational standards within department for gains in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Drive the implementation of production standards and quality control programs
• Ensures planned metrics of efficiency and performance are met or exceeded for area of responsibility
• Responsible for managing direct reports in accordance with production objectives to meet business goals
• Determine and continually improved staffing utilization within assigned department which promotes schedule stability for maximum return on efficiencies
• Establish group and individual accountabilities; track goal attainment by direct reports; and provide leadership and development as required to achieve business results through people
• Coordinates with and provides information to other departments, divisions, suppliers, customers or applicants as necessary.
• Provides coverage as needed across all shifts and weekend programs
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree required.
• 3-5 years experience at the supervisory level in an manufacturing environment
• Demonstrated Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience
• Possess data driven problem-solving skills
• Effective verbal and written communication skills required.
• Proven ability to work in a self-directed environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required; SAP experience a plus.
• Must be able to work any shift
