A well established, publicly traded company is seeking an Accounting Manager to join its technical accounting function. This is an individual contributor role reporting into corporate accounting leadership, ideal for someone who wants deep technical work without the burden of managing a team. The organization operates at meaningful scale with complex reporting requirements, and this position sits at the center of its external reporting and technical accounting research. You will partner closely with SEC reporting, FP&A, and external auditors to ensure the company's financial statements are accurate, compliant, and defensible.
Responsibilities- Prepare and review components of the Form 10 K and Form 10 Q filings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with SEC requirements
- Draft and maintain technical accounting memos addressing revenue recognition and lease accounting matters
- Research emerging accounting standards and assess their impact on the company's financial reporting
- Partner with external auditors during quarterly reviews and the annual audit
- Support the monthly and quarterly close process related to complex transactions
- Collaborate cross functionally with FP&A, legal, and business unit finance teams on transaction accounting
- Assist in maintaining internal controls and documentation to support SOX compliance
- Monitor changes in ASC 606 and ASC 842 guidance and recommend updates to accounting policy
Requirements- CPA required
- Direct experience preparing or reviewing 10 K and 10 Q filings
- Strong technical knowledge of revenue recognition (ASC 606) and lease accounting (ASC 842)
- Big 4 public accounting experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Comfortable working as an individual contributor while collaborating across departments
- Strong written communication skills, particularly for drafting technical memos
