Role OverviewCoupang is looking for a Product Analysis Specialist to join our Search and Discovery ("S&D") team.
As a Product analysis specialist, you will act as the "customer in the room", working directly with Senior leaders, Product Managers, Data Analysts, and Engineers located on the West Coast, Mountain View, CA, or Seattle, WA. You will frequently collaborate with the S&D team members in the Asia time zone. Your primary responsibility will be to understand the customer's intent behind a specific search query and leverage data-driven analysis to identify trends, measure performance, and provide actionable insights that drive continuous improvement in search technology. For example, you might analyze search query data to identify common patterns and user behaviors, then use these insights to recommend changes that enhance search accuracy and relevance.
The ideal candidate is an experienced analyst with demonstrated proficiency in both Korean and English languages, with strong executive communication skills. The candidate should be a fast learner, working with minimal guidance, exercising sound judgement in a fast paced and goal-oriented environment. Strong prioritization and attention to detail are essential for managing complex tasks autonomously. They will proactively provide data-backed insights to stakeholders, ensuring the timely and successful project delivery.
What You Will Do- Analyze search result to understand the customer intent, considering semantic and cultural context and suggest ways to express to improve item discovery
- Find, document, and track numerous search defects (a case that search result does not satisfy customer intent) quickly
- Analyze large scale data to suggest actionable insights for performance improvement
- Design and develop core business metrics
- Communicate findings to senior leaders and evangelize data-driven business decision
Basic Qualifications- Strong data-driven problem solving skills with focus on understanding the root causes
- Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, or a related field
- 2+ years of professional work experience in product analysis or quantitative data analysis
- Strong written and verbal communications in both English and Korean languages
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Proficiency in writing queries via SQL
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite applications and Google Workspace
- Capacity to work with different international time zones
Preferred Qualifications- Proven track record of establishing mechanisms to streamline processes and establish structure.
- Good understanding about how search system works
- Basic to Intermediate language ability in Traditional Chinese
Pay & BenefitsOur compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. At Coupang, your base pay is one part of your total compensation.
The base pay for this position ranges from $88,000/year in our lowest geographic market to $190,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
