Sea Logistics Operational Care Manager, Import

The Sea Logistics Operational Care Import Manager leads a team responsible for delivering high-quality import operations while driving operational efficiency, productivity, and profitability. This role oversees the Operational Care Center (OCC), ensuring shipments are managed accurately, efficiently, and in line with customer expectations. The successful candidate will focus on developing team capabilities, improving processes, and supporting the continued growth of Kuehne+Nagel's Sea Logistics business. They will build strong relationships with carriers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure exceptional service delivery and operational performance. In addition, they will ensure Health Chain and other Sea Logistics shipments are managed in compliance with GxP requirements, transportation regulations, company policies, and customer-specific guidelines.
30Lead, coach, and develop a team of Operational Care Center (OCC) professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
30Partner with Customer Care and Operations leadership to identify process gaps and implement solutions that improve service quality and the customer experience.
30Drive workflow optimization initiatives to improve efficiency, productivity, and scalability.
30Develop and deliver training, mentoring, and professional development programs for team members.
30Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers, suppliers, and other key partners.Identify operational risks and implement contingency plans to minimize disruptions and ensure service continuity.
30Monitor KPIs and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
30Provide guidance and support to OCC Specialists, helping them resolve issues and make informed decisions.
30Ensure timely, accurate, and customer-focused communication throughout the shipment lifecycle.
30Analyze performance trends and identify opportunities to improve processes, productivity, and service levels.
30Support Healthcare Logistics (Health Chain) operations, ensuring compliance with GxP requirements, training standards, and customer-specific protocols.
30Ensure compliance with Kuehne+Nagel Quality, Safety, Health, and Environment (KNQSHE) policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
30Promote a high-performance, customer-focused culture while maintaining quality and compliance standards.

What we would like you to bring
305+ years of experience in Sea Logistics Freight Forwarding, preferably in import operations.
303+ years of people leadership experience, including coaching and developing teams.
30Experience managing operational performance and driving process improvements in a logistics or supply chain environment.
30Strong understanding of import regulations, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.
30Experience working with carriers and managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
30Ability to use KPIs, reporting tools, and performance metrics to drive business results.
30Project management experience, including leading initiatives from planning through implementation.
30Strong commercial awareness and the ability to balance customer needs with operational and business objectives.
30Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. Kuehne+Nagel reviews pay ranges regularly to ensure competitive and fair pay based on industry market data.
