Full Job Description
Job Title: Scrum Master

Role Overview
We are seeking a high-energy, collaborative, and self-motivated Scrum Master to lead our Agile software development teams. In this role, you will act as a servant-leader, guiding your team toward self-organization, sustainable delivery, and continuous improvement. You will be the team's resident expert on Agile/Scrum frameworks, facilitating ceremonies, removing blockers, and fostering a culture of radical transparency and accountability.

This is a dynamic, high-impact role for a professional who understands that the "best way to work" is built through coaching, not coercion. You will partner with Product Owners, Release Train Engineers, and engineering teams to translate business priorities into technical execution, ensuring the team consistently delivers high-value software at a sustainable velocity.

Key Responsibilities
Agile Facilitation & Coaching
• Ceremony Leadership: Facilitate all core Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and sprint demos.
• Team Maturity: Assess the Scrum maturity of the team and organization, coaching team members toward higher levels of maturity at a sustainable, comfortable pace.
• Guidance & Mentorship: Guide teams in effective story writing, splitting, and mapping. Motivate and support teams to drive end-value without dictating work assignments.
• Scrum Expert: Serve as the team's primary Scrum resource, fostering self-organization and helping the team fill the intentional gaps left by Agile frameworks.

Communication, Collaboration & Transparency
• Impediment Removal: Proactively remove blockers, both internal and external to the team, by identifying the right personnel and resources to resolve challenges.
• Information Radiators: Manage, publish, and communicate relevant metrics and "information radiators" to ensure the team and program stakeholders have a clear view of progress against objectives.
• Trust & Safety: Build a trusting, safe, and transparent environment where challenges are addressed proactively with an emphasis on collaborative problem-solving.

Process Integration & Delivery
• Technical Alignment: Partner with the Release Train Engineer to integrate team efforts with the broader organization.
• Delivery Excellence: Understand fundamentals of software development processes, including Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD), ensuring they are tightly integrated into the Scrum lifecycle.

Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor's degree preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Experience Baseline: Minimum of 5-7 years of overall Agile experience, with at least 2+ years serving specifically as a Scrum Master.
• Certification: Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or SAFe Scrum Master (SSM) is mandatory.
• Technical Mastery:
oStrong working knowledge of software development lifecycles and modern IT technologies.
oProven experience with relative estimation, retrospective, and Agile release planning techniques.
oHands-on experience integrating Scrum practices with CI/CD and TDD environments.
• Core Competencies: Self-motivated and well-organized; strong innovation and facilitation skills; proven ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization; excellent oral, written, and business presentation skills.

Preferred Attributes
• Additional certifications: Certified SAFe Advanced Scrum Master (SASM), Certified Product Owner (CSPO), PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP), or Certified SAFe Agilist (SA).
• Proven ability to utilize external vendors and cross-organizational resources to drive project outcomes.
• Deep understanding of organizational change management.
