This position is focused on serving as a Scrum Master and servant leader for an Agile software development team supporting a federal government program. The primary responsibility is to help the team successfully deliver software using SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) practices by facilitating Agile ceremonies, removing obstacles, improving team performance, and driving continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities - Lead and facilitate Agile ceremonies, including:
- Daily Stand-Ups
- Sprint Planning
- Backlog Grooming/Refinement
- Sprint Reviews
- Retrospectives
- Program Increment (PI) Planning
- Remove impediments that slow team progress and shield the team from external disruptions.
- Coach the team on Agile and SAFe best practices.
- Partner with the Product Owner to maintain a healthy backlog and improve team velocity.
- Track and report project metrics, milestones, and deliverables.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and workflow optimization.
- Foster strong team collaboration and positive team dynamics.
Required Qualifications - Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph
- Bachelor's degree plus 8+ years of experience, or:
- Master's degree plus 6+ years, or
- Additional experience may substitute for the degree requirement.
- Proven experience as a Scrum Master in an IT environment.
- Experience facilitating all major Scrum and SAFe ceremonies.
- Scrum certification such as:
- CSM
- PSM I
- PMI-ACP
- SAFe certification
- At least 1 year of SAFe experience.
- Experience with Agile project management tools, particularly JIRA.
- Experience supporting software development teams within the Federal Government environment.
