About the job:

The Scrum Coach will support a government program by coaching Agile teams, facilitating Scrum and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) practices, and promoting continuous improvement across the program. The successful candidate will work closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, development teams, and program leadership to prepare for and execute Agile and SAFe ceremonies.

This position requires an active Scrum certification and a Counterintelligence (CI) polygraph completed within the past five years.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Coach Agile teams, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and program stakeholders on Scrum, SAFe, and Agile best practices.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners to prepare for and facilitate Agile and SAFe ceremonies.
  • Support the planning and execution of:
    • Daily stand-ups
    • Sprint planning sessions
    • Sprint reviews and demonstrations
    • Sprint retrospectives
    • Backlog refinement sessions
    • Inspect and Adapt events
    • Program Increment planning events
  • Assist Product Owners with backlog development, prioritization, refinement, and readiness.
  • Ensure user stories, features, acceptance criteria, and program objectives are clearly defined and aligned with mission requirements.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination among Agile teams, Product Owners, technical leadership, and program stakeholders.
  • Identify and help resolve team impediments, risks, dependencies, and process challenges.
  • Coach teams on Agile estimation, capacity planning, velocity tracking, and delivery forecasting.
  • Support the development and tracking of Program Increment objectives, team commitments, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Encourage consistent application of Agile principles and practices across the program.
  • Use team and program metrics to identify trends, measure performance, and recommend process improvements.
  • Promote transparency, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Support organizational Agile transformation and maturity initiatives.
  • Prepare Agile status reports, dashboards, briefings, and other documentation required by program leadership.
  • Ensure Agile activities and deliverables comply with applicable government and contract requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • Current Scrum certification, such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), SAFe Scrum Master, or an equivalent recognized certification.
  • Demonstrated experience serving as a Scrum Coach, Agile Coach, Scrum Master, or similar Agile leadership professional.
  • Experience collaborating with Product Owners to prepare for Agile and SAFe ceremonies.
  • Experience facilitating sprint reviews, Inspect and Adapt events, and Program Increment planning events.
  • Strong knowledge of Scrum, Agile, Lean, and SAFe principles and practices.
  • Experience coaching cross-functional teams in a complex technical or government-contracting environment.
  • Ability to facilitate meetings involving technical teams, program leadership, customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, conflict-resolution, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, mission-focused environment.
Required Education:

Qualified candidates must meet one of the following criteria:

High School Diploma or GED, plus twelve (12) years of general systems engineering experience; OR

Bachelor's degree in a qualified engineering or related field, plus (7) years of systems engineering experience

Salary Range: $154,000 -$218,000

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, BCT-LLC considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
