Job Description: The QC Scientist IV performs the analysis on allergenic and client components, raw materials, intermediates, and finished products following written procedures, providing the data required to determine raw material, product disposition. In addition, this position demonstrates leadership, teamwork and technical expertise.
- Analyze raw materials, in-process, stability and final container products according to established procedures and as directed by the supervisor.
- Perform studies to assess product or procedural problems.
- Perform investigations and other forms of troubleshooting.
- Create procedures, protocols, and reports on new or ongoing product quality control testing for management as directed by the Supervisor or as required by a project team.
- Maintain training compliance on all procedures.
- Adhere to the all aspects of plant safety programs and in keeping with GMP's or other regulations.
- Maintain and operate laboratory equipment in accordance with procedure.
- Participate heavily in direct internal and/or external client interactions, including communication of results, and incidents; propose and implement possible resolution pathways.
- Demonstrate QC leadership within the department and outside the department as needed.
- Demonstrate technical expertise and assist in training exercises.
- Propose and be capable of defending pathways for improvement of processes and procedures, and suggest resolution on issues such as unexpected results.
- Perform special assignments as directed by Supervisor.
- Apply industry regulations to ensure QC and GMP compliance.
Required:
o Bachelors of Science in Chemistry, Biology or related hard science.
o 5 years' lab experience required
o 3 years pharmaceutical experience required
o Knowledge, practical application, and understanding of the sciences are necessary to perform the functions of this position.
o Must utilize scientific literature, and make effective written and oral reports that are clear, accurate, and logical.
o Knowledge of chemistry, statistics, computer-assisted data processing, and good-manufacturing practices is desirable.
o Must demonstrate initiative and a willingness to learn.
