Job Description:

We are searching for the best talent for a Scientist II Interventional Oncology to join our Discovery Biology team based in Spring House, PA.

The successful candidate will join a dynamic, multidisciplinary team of scientists in exploratory immuno-oncology, playing a key role in the evaluation and understanding of new drug concepts in vivo and in vitro.

Responsibilities:
  • Execute in vivo pharmacology experiments end-to-end, including tumor cell culture, tumor cell implantation, dosing, and handling of investigational drugs (including chemotherapeutics), tumor volume measurements, and collection of tissues/tumors for downstream analysis
  • Monitor ongoing in vivo experiments on a daily basis and collaborate closely with other scientists and SIS staff/Veterinary teams (VETs) to ensure animal welfare and health monitoring
  • Assist the team with the planning, design, and execution of various in vivo syngeneic and xenograft studies, utilizing established DDI guidelines for in vivo data collection, analysis, and reporting
  • Conduct in vitro human and ex vivo mouse immunology experiments, as required, to support the ongoing INTO portfolio or pre-portfolio programs, including assays using cancer cell, myeloid, and T-cell-based co-cultures
  • Demonstrate agility and learning flexibility in applying diverse cellular and molecular biology techniques, including cell/organoid assays, FACS, ELISA, MSD, and qRT-PCR
  • Support the Discovery Biology team with experimental setup, assay optimization, and data analysis using appropriate statistical methods, and prepare data in presentation-ready formats and for Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) entry; provide updates in team and discovery meetings
  • Maintain detailed experimental records and ensure compliance with all relevant internal and external training requirements
  • Work as a team player and support day-to-day activities, including ordering laboratory reagents and supplies, as needed


Qualifications/Experience

Required:
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences (e.g., Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, or Tumor Immunology) with 3 to 5 years of relevant laboratory-based experience in industry, biotech, or an academic setting; alternatively, a Master's degree (M.S.) with relevant pharmaceutical, biotech, laboratory, or academic experience
  • Experience with animal handling in oncology-relevant rodent models, including subcutaneous and orthotopic tumor implantation techniques, dosing, proper handling of therapeutics, tumor measurements, health monitoring, and data collection and analysis
  • Experience adhering to animal welfare and compliance regulations
  • Experience with drug administration via subcutaneous, intraperitoneal, and intravenous tail vein injections, as well as oral gavage
  • Experience with blood collection techniques, including tail vein, saphenous vein, and cardiac puncture
  • Experience performing animal autopsy/dissection, microsurgery, perfusion, and tissue collection
  • Familiarity with animal use protocols (AUP) and global IACUC policies


Preferred:
  • Experience with cell culture of cancer or immune cells
  • Experience with bioluminescent imaging, flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry (IHC), and ELISA/MSD
  • Strong learning agility and the ability to work across multiple projects


Additional Information:
  • This position may require occasional weekend, evening, and holiday dosing and/or animal monitoring
