Lilly operates a state of the art Parenteral, Device Assembly, and Packaging Facility located at the Research Triangle Park (RTP) in North Carolina. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced environmental professional to lead the site environmental programs and assist with sustainability initiatives.
The Environmental Scientist will be responsible for overseeing all environmental permits and programs at the RTP site. Responsibilities will include but not limited to: regulatory and corporate environmental compliance, coordination of all environmental initiatives and collaborating with key stakeholders on environmental related projects and needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and maintain site-wide environmental compliance programs, including air, water, wastewater, stormwater, and hazardous waste.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations and site permits
- Serve as the primary interface with regulatory agencies and manage inspections, reporting, and correspondence.
- Own environmental permitting, compliance assessments, audits, and corrective actions
- Provide technical guidance and training to operations, engineering, and site partners
- Support environmental aspects of projects, expansions, and operational changes
- Track regulatory changes and proactively assess site impact and response needs
- Manage the 3rd Party contract for site waste disposal services (hazardous waste and non-hazardous waste).
- Serve as Emergency Response Coordinator for RCRA compliance.

- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field
- Experience managing environmental compliance programs in a regulated manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment
- Strong working knowledge of EPA and North Carolina environmental regulations
- Proven experience with permitting, reporting, and regulatory agency engagement
Additional Information:Role is Monday through Friday based.
Occasional extended hour and / or off-hour work may be required.
Position will be based out of RTP site with ability to travel to Indianapolis and other global Lilly sites, as required

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate's education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$65,250 - $169,400
