The Scientific Infrastructure team implements and maintains software that supports all experimental operations at Emerald Cloud Lab. The team engineers systems that direct, track, and support laboratory experiments.
Responsibilities include
- Architecting and developing new software solutions to increase the speed or reliability of the laboratory operations team
- Maintaining advanced laboratory support systems, including inventory management and asset tracking
- Updating SLL, Emerald's software library, to provide a better development experience for internal and external users
Requirements
- Ph.D. degree in Chemistry or Biology
- You have 2 years of experience as a Scientific Infrastructure Engineer, Scientific Automation Engineer, Research Scientist - Automation & Systems, Research & Development Infrastructure Scientist, or Research Engineer
- Experience with Mathematica Coding
- You are comfortable with rigorous data analysis and experimental design.
- You are capable and willing to learn computer programming (no prior experience necessary, but it is a welcome bonus).
- You are capable and willing to learn to program robotic automation (no prior experience necessary, but it is a welcome bonus).
- You have worked extensively in the course of research to troubleshoot both experiments and complex instrumentation.
- You have experience conducting a wide variety of different experiment types and are excited to quickly develop expertise in a very diverse array of new methods and instrumentation.
- You enjoy building systems and automating processes.
- You are a detail-oriented thinker who takes pride in precision experimentation.
