Title of Position: School Principal - Aaron Mossell Junior High School

Qualifications:
  1. Working knowledge of Next Generation Learning Standards and NY state assessments
  2. The ability and commitment to use technology as an instructional tool
  3. Strong understanding of the Science of Reading and Science of Mathematics

  5. Broad experience with a variety of instructional techniques

Requirements:

  • Earned Master's Degree

  • Prior successful experience in leadership roles at the elementary level (strongly preferred)

Responsibilities - The principal will be expected to:

Academic and Instructional
  • Foster an uncompromising commitment to increasing student achievement and the graduation rate with an emphasis on college and career readiness
  • Provide instructional leadership, coaching, and support to teachers who are working with a

diverse student body
  • Ensure the use of a wide variety of assessments that, together, reflect the educational philosophy of the

District and prepare students to excel on state assessment measures
  • Demonstrate the ability to facilitate the execution of the standards-based curriculum with an emphasis

on technology integration
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding and ability to lead the Data Analysis and Planning Process
  • Possess a clear understanding of special education and English Language Learner regulations

and educational programming

  • Define and build a transformative school culture consistent with the District's Strategic Plan for

Continuous Improvement and School Comprehensive Education Plan
  • Demonstrate success with developing and maintaining positive relationships with all members of the

community to accomplish the goals of the District
