Full Job Description
Position Overview
Provide orientation and mobility services to children and young adults ages 3-21 across home, school, and community settings through direct intervention and consultation.
Conduct functional assessments and provide recommendations related to students' orientation, mobility, and access needs.
Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams and participate in IEP meetings to support evaluations, service planning, and student outcomes.
Develop individualized strategies that promote safe, independent travel and participation across educational and community environments.
Valid Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS) credential through ACVREP or an equivalent recognized certification
Experience working with children and adolescents who are blind or visually impaired preferred, along with knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and school-based special education services
