Job Description

AECOM is seeking a talented and driven Scheduling Manager to support large-scale federal programs and infrastructure projects. In this role, you will lead scheduling and project controls activities that are critical to successful project delivery, providing schedule development, analysis, forecasting, performance measurement, and reporting expertise throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in CPM scheduling, schedule risk analysis, earned value management, change management, and integrated project controls within complex federal project environments. This position can be located in several cities, including: Robles Junction, AZ; Sonoita, AZ; Casa Grande, AZ; Indio, CA; and San Diego, CA.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides analysis of schedule data to identify key project issues.
  • Supports the development of plans and schedules for proposals.
  • May assist in leading junior staff through assignment tasks.
  • Assists in tracking corrective actions.
  • Assists in coordination of schedule input from all parts of the organization.
  • Able to identify and assist in analysis of project schedule variances. Identifies and analyzes schedule variances and recommends associated corrective action.
  • Updates and produces scheduling management reports.
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of WBS and helps insure that project coding is effectively used for all cornerstone applications.
  • Able to use drawings and specifications for schedule development.
  • Expert ability to develop CPM schedule logic for engineering, procurement and construction as well as command of cornerstone scheduling system.
  • Able to resource load schedule and perform remedial schedule risk analysis.
  • Responsible for assembling data for schedule updating.
  • Familiar with construction contracting and the scheduling implications of contract terms.
  • Measures progress and reviews invoices of contractors.
  • Reviews purchase orders and subcontract schedule status and provides management with input on subcontract performance.
  • Knowledgeable of scope control and change management and has demonstrated ability to incorporate directed changes into schedule baseline. Knowledgeable in earned value methodology.
  • Assumes responsibility for some elements of baseline schedule and associated maintenance.
  • Familiar with basic cost analysis and forecasting as it relates to planning and scheduling.
  • Conducts or assists in performance measurement and associated schedule trends.
  • Supports various levels of project reporting.
  • Participates in and at times leads project planning and scheduling review meetings.
  • Assists in procedure development and implementation.


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of scheduling, planning, or project controls experience supporting federal programs or projects, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and 15+ years of scheduling, planning, or project controls experience supporting large federal programs and projects.
  • Advanced expertise in CPM scheduling, critical path analysis, schedule risk analysis, resource loading, and resource leveling.
  • Experience serving as the lead scheduler or scheduling manager on major infrastructure, transportation, environmental, water, energy, or facilities projects.
  • Strong knowledge of earned value management (EVM), performance measurement methodologies, and integrated project controls.
  • Experience utilizing Primavera P6, project management information systems (PMIS), and enterprise project controls platforms.
  • Familiarity with federal contracting requirements and the schedule implications of contract terms and conditions.
  • Professional certifications such as Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP), Project Management Professional (PMP), or equivalent credentials.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience mentoring project controls personnel and coordinating multidisciplinary project teams.
